On 3rd September 2022 the Kingsway Allotment Colony opened its gates to the general public for people to see around the site and talk to plotholders. The event was very successful with many local residents and families popping in to see what we do.

Refreshments, Produce and book stalls helped to raise funds for the Association and the proceeds were split 50/50 with Chapter West Cheshire, a local Mental Health Charity. On the day £519.28 was taken and a cheque for £260 was sent to our chosen charity, Chapter.

A Scarecrow competition was held with six plotholders creating their own character and visitors were invited to select their favourite!

Sean Sweeney, one of our plotholders, is a bit of a natauralist and set up a stall for children to explore some of the wildlife that is to be found across the site...

He also had produced a chart which showed all the bird species that had been spotted on the colony between 2017 and 2022

Plotholders made cakes for sale in the refreshments stand in the community pavilion and produce and plants were donated for sale to raise funds....
